JB/T2379-93《金屬管狀電熱元件》行業標準中規定電熱管|金屬外殼加熱棒通斷電試驗要求：電熱元件在規定的試驗條件下經歷2000次通斷電實驗不發生損壞；將電熱元件接入電源，在發熱元件達到充分發熱條件后10min開始做2000次通斷電操作，通電時間為1.5min，斷電時間為0.5min。本文圖中所示，將單頭加熱管放置于空氣中干燒，通過調壓器將器供電設置與額定電壓的1.1倍。
Cartridge heater?OPEN AIR TEST：This test was conducted using a 5/8” dia. x 6”(15.8 mm x 152 mm) long, 750 watt 240 volt Cartridge heater. The test was conducted in ambient air 70o F (21o C). A type ‘J’thermocouple was attached to the heater atthe center of the sheath. The voltage was varied through a variac to obtain proper power input for corresponding watt density.
