模具用單頭電熱管本身為高瓦特密度，經常因為熱傳遞太差，造成外部管體焦黑，內部高溫加速電熱線老化，導致電熱線斷裂；模具深孔加工應注意孔徑和長度的精準度，不可兩頭鉆孔，因為交接處無法密合而有較大孔隙，使電熱管散熱不良，被加熱體溫度不平均；電熱管安裝時應把加熱區域全部放入模具孔里，并加以固定，保護發熱區不外漏空燒；避免使用耐溫低的熱傳導泥，以免造成內孔積碳、漏電，日后不易更換電熱管。
